Mother's Day Commission

A lifelong friend and her two brothers commissioned me to create a piece for Mother's Day 2021. This is the largest and most complex piece I have ever completed, and it may very well be my life's proudest accomplishment thus far. It measures 16"x24", and I worked exclusively on it over the course of about 5-6 weeks. I was even able to be present when it was gifted to the new owner and see her eyes fill with tears as her daughter explained all the symbolism. (see photo captions below)

The main focus of the piece is a mama bear and her 3 cubs, representing this amazing woman and her 3 children.

A honeybee, dragonfly, and butterfly are included as representations of the spouse of each of the siblings.
